Hello all

Wow, lots of names that I have not thought of in a long time

Steve and Dave, you guys will proberbly not remember me, I was just a sprog in form 1 when we were all in the hostel, I remember my first night at the hostel, I was so sick that I vomited on Candy carbutt, and Venessa (somebody or other) during prep after dinner that night.

As for bunking out, well I think alot of us did that at one time or other, where you guys around when Mr French discovered the wine making in the ceiling of the top dorm bathroom?

Do you remember Mr Rasher, I remember the canning I had from him once, thank goodness it was the one time only

I only remember your name, but full marks for creativity on the wine making endeavour...I'm sure it was delicious, given the ideal conditions

Who out there has considered (even remotely) moving back at some time in the future if/when the situation changes?

 

 

I miss the unique social life of Zim, and the wildlife, farming in the bushveld etc, and often think I would relish the challenge of helping in the rebuilding of our beautiful country. Then I look at the old guy in the mirror and wonder if I would have the energy!

Hi all, I feel quite the old man here.  I was in Northlea from 1967 to 1969, before going to South Africa to finish School.

Well, when I was there, there was no boarding school.  I used to have History with Mrs Mckenzie and Afrikaans with Miss Farreira.  She married a school teacher at some time, But I do not know Who.  Mr Van der Bijl was the headmaster and of course Mr Edington was deputy Headmaster.

 

I remember that bridge over the railway line.  I my time the fights took place on the Goverment House grounds.  But they Fenced it off after a while.

I stayed in Rowena, actually right across from the hotel...can't remember the name any more.  My folks travelled quite a bit, so I ended up attending 13 different schools,  and I must admit that Northlea was the best.

 I am Rosemary Pieron, I went to Northlea from 1973 to 1976 and remember Rodney Esterhusizen and Robert Bowie also Serina Mackneizie as well as Pricilla Ballpit. I was in Mrs Thompson's class and Mrs Nichols. Do you remember Mr Dave Morris. I was in the same class as Heather James.

I live in South Africa - Germiston to be exact.

I am Rosemary Pieron, I was at Northlea from 1973 to 1976 and I was In Mrs Thompson's class. Needlework. I was also in Mrs Nichols class and she was cool. Do you remember Mrs Howard a little old lady who taught accounting.Mr Eddington had a fling with the science teacher. I live in South Africa and bumped into Mrs Thompson many years ago. Anybody heard from Rodney Esterhuizen and Robert Bowie.

Do you remember a bird called Selina Mckenzie, she was a good looking girl, but so stuck up.

I remember the Skipper Garage in Sausertown. Is is a long time ago and the memory is slowly fading, but they were good times.

If things got better there, I would go back tommorrow, no place like, and boy was that place great. The way of life and People and the country were fabulous.

I wait with baited breath and will return if I can.
